What to Expect When We Meet

Our work will begin with 1 - 3 assessment sessions. This allows time for me to learn about you and understand your therapy goals, so that I can collaborate with you to create a plan for treatment. This also affords you the opportunity to get a feel for what it would be like to work together, and whether you think that will fit your needs.

My Approach to Psychotherapy

At times, it can seem like life events control the way people feel, creating feelings of helplessness and hopelessness. At other times, a person may struggle with feeling unmotivated or purposeless without any specific cause. I believe psychotherapy empowers people by gaining understanding of specific struggles while actively developing skills to create change. People often seek treatment when they feel they have lost touch with the things that bring meaning and direction to life. A key part of our work will be identifying the things that matter to you and finding ways that therapy can bring you closer to a life that is more connected with your personal values.
